Coldplay In India: Amitabh Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor Address Gender Issues
After a power-packed performance by Demi Lovato, things took a sombre turn at the Global Citizen India concert taking place at the MMRDA grounds here in Mumbai.

Arjun Kapoor introduced Amitabh Bachchan on stage and Big B was joined by the Shillong Chamber Choir for a stellar symphony of poetry and patriotism.

Bachchan Sr. gave an energetic recital of a poem which was a tribute to Indian women as gender equality is among the goals of Global Citizen, the international charity which has brought Coldplay and Jay-Z to India.

Amitabh Bachchan's performance was followed by Karan Johar who pledged his support to end extreme poverty in India in front of the 70,000 strong audience.

Sonam Kapoor was the next Bollywood celebrity who took the stage and the actress spoke about the need to end gender violence in the country.

Other Bollywood big wigs who are expected to make an appearance are Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor who will perform in support of the "Shuruaat Hoon Main" message of the concert.
